Oh my...it has been awhile...

Once again, it has been awhile since I have posted here. Life in our house has been rather crazy!! Lets go back to the family reunion!

We arrived at the location friday afternoon. It took us longer than anticipated to get there due to some road construction, but once we made it through there, it did not take us long to get to the place. Kaylee and Wyatt slept a good portion of the way, the woke up when we were at a standstill at the construction, but then dozed off again! By the time we arrived Kaylee and Wyatt were ready to come out of their carseats. We found a great location and set up our tent, and got everything organised. Then we started visiting people as they arrived.

Friday, we mainly mingled, went for a walk and had open fire roasted hotdogs for dinner...yummy! Kaylee and Wyatt got alot of attention and as always loved every moment of it!

Saturday, another big day of mingling, went to the water and watched people in the boat and some go tubing. We also had some family pictures taken...there were alot of us there! In the evening, there was a soccer game, I did not participate though, I was sitting near the tent with the babies, giving them some much needed quite time and a place to just play on the ground with their toys!

Sunday, we had a great breakfast and then started to pack up everything. And of course, it had to start raining, so we had to pack up a nice wet tent. The rain did stop once the car was packed and the weather began to improve. So, we decided (Kayne, myself, Dustin and Lisa) that we would go to Ma-Me-O beach and let the kids play in the sand. We got there and each got a yummy icecream cone, and then sat on the lawn first before heading to the beach. The kids loved mommy and daddy's icecream. When we were done eatting our yummy treat we decided to go back to the car as it looked like there was some nasty storm clouds heading towards us.

We arrived home around 4pm, and got the important things unpacked, I got a nasty headache, so after the kids were in bed...which did not take long after their bath, I too went to sleep.

This last week has been a rough one in our house. After the weekend away, and all the attention and interaction the kids recieved, they still wanted that at home. It is impossible for me to give them all of that attention all of the time! So needless to say, we have been dealing with quite a few tempers! We did not do alot that week as the kids were fussy, and the weather was poor. We went on a few walks in the jogging stroller, picked up a few groceries but that was about it. On friday, we set up the patio swing...I LOVE IT...it is so comfortable and everyone else in our house loves it too...mommy may have to wrestle to get her swing :)

This past Sunday, I met Casey and the kids and we took all 5 youngsters to the spray park. Kaylee and Wyatt were not too impressed with the spraying water so we just sat in the shade and played on the ground. It was a HOT day so we were only there for about 1 1/2 hours and then went back to Caseys for a bit. It was a nice relaxing day for us!

Yesterday, we went to the mall for a bit to look around and pick up some baby hangers so I can hang up more clothing for the kids. During our outting I found the perfect clock for our kitchen, I have been wanting one for over a year now, but could never find what I was looking for! And the best part was that it cost a whopping 6 bucks!!! We then went home as it was getting close to naptime. When the main sun was off of our deck, Kaylee and Wyatt put on their bathing suits and went splashing in their little pool...they have so much fun splashing around. The evening was relatively quite. Kaylee fought us again (3rd night now) to go to sleep. She screams at the top of her lungs and has a huge temper, it has been an adventure to say the least. Finally at 10:15pm, she was asleep!

We had a huge thunder and lightening storm lastnight, so I sat outside for a bit and watched the lightshow!

Today, we are going out. I am getting my hair cut, and then visiting some of my co-workers thatI have not seen in a long time. They have not seen Kaylee and Wyatt since they were 1 month old...oh how they have changed since then! I am looking forward to today!

Sunday, we got

Going away!!

Well everyone, we are on the way to a family reunion for Kaynes side of the family. It will be the first time that I am meeting some of the family and it has been 20 years since Kayne has seen some of them. I think it is going to be a busy overwhelming weekend, but alot of fun!

So to pack for 4 people to go camping has been a bit of a challenge. We have a Ford taurus, in the trunk we have a stroller (duoglider, which takes up have the trunk) and then a huge tent, 18 feet x 9 feet (which really takes up the other half of the trunk. Also squished/wedged into the trunk is a bag for kaynes stuff, a bag with mine and the kids stuff, a small cooler with their food in it, toys, 4 sleeping bags,diaper/hats for kids and some shoes. In the back seat of the car will be the kids, the dog, munchies and food, pillows, blankets, and kids favorite stuffies. In the front seat will be me and Kayne, my purse/diaperbag, Kaynes camera bag, and my pillow!!!! It will be a cosy little ride!!

I will post when we return. I hope you all have a great weekend!!!!

We have been so busy!!!!

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I have not posted in a bit, but we have been very busy. The joy of beautiful weather!

A couple of weekends ago, the weather here was extremely hot, so I was finally able to get our deck completely sanded and restained. It was a project that we have been working on for 6 weeks, and now the main part of the deck is ready to alot of outdoor use and I know that Kaylee and Wyatt will be able to move around safely, and I will not have to worry about them eating paint chips that have peeled off! I still have to stain the splindles on the railings, but at least I will be able to do that when all of us are outside.

Then July 1st, Canada Day, was very busy for us. In the morning Kaylee, Wyatt and I went and watched a Canada Day parade. My nephews Riley and Christopher were in the parade, they were lucky enough to be able to ride up in the front of a firetruck, and Riley was lucky to be able to say "Happy Canada Day" to everyone over the speaker of the truck! After the parade, me and the kids went home and picked up Kayne, and we went to some activities near home. There were so many booths set up for Canada celebrations, this year Kaylee and Wyatt were a bit young to really enjoy everything, but in the next couple of years, they will have lots to do!!! There was a booth set up that we searched for, it was called "waxed hands". I was very excited about this as I wanted to get Kaylee and Wyatts hands done, but due to their age we were not able to...also the wax would be too hot and we did not want to burn them! Maybe next time! When we were done at the festivities, we went to my moms house for supper, we visited with a bunch of my family and then at 10 pm, we left and went to watch the fireworks. They were amazing, and Kaylee and Wyatt were great during them. I was wondering how their first experience would be with fireworks, they did not cry or fuss, they both watched the fireworks!! We got home around midnight and they went to sleep rather quickly!!
Here are some of the beautiful fireworks that we saw:

The next day was a bit of a rough day...there was so much excitement the day before, and we were out for most of the day, that all of us just needed a bit of a quite day. We hung out at home, did laundry, cleaned up and just relaxed!

Then just this past weekend, we had our first camping trip of the year! It was the first time taking Kaylee and Wyatt out like that and sleeping in a tent. I was wondering how the weekend would go, how they would like it, would it be hard. All and all things went very well. Kaylee and Wyatt seemed to have a really good time! We were able to use our brand new tent...it was amazing!!! Both Kaylee and Wyatt learned very quickly that when you are awake, you go out the door and you are outside, so there were several times that they would go and bang on the tent door wanting to outside! They crawled all over the place, tried to eat dirt, leaves, grass and any other things that they could find! I was concerned about them not taking naps at all with all of the distractions, but they had naps on the friday and saturday!!! They slept all the way home on Sunday!

In the last week or so, it seems that things have really changed again! Kaylee is now on a pureed/mashed food strike...she only wants to have bite sized pieces that she can chew. Wyatt is now beginning to eat puffs and cheerios...but only when he wants to. Otherwise he still seems to gag. I have also tried giving him bite sized pieces of food, and he usually just refuses this.

Kaylee's first tooth is now all the way through, and Satuday night, I noticed that she has her second tooth coming though...this one is on the top!!!(Kayne looked today and he can not see it...it seems that the corner of that tooth is moving up and down, but there is a bump there!) And I would not be surprised if there is more on the way as she is chewing and drooling ALOT, and seems to be more fussy today!

Wyatt is starting to walk when he holds on to your fingers! That little boy is gonna be running before I know it!

Yesterday, July 6th, Kaylee and Waytt were exactly 9 months old!!!!! Here are some of the things that they are doing now:

Kaylee:
  • crawling, walking around furniture
  • trying to stand without assistance
  • eating bite sized peices of food
  • can eat by herself...but gets really messy!!!!
  • says "da da da...dad"

Wyatt:

  • Crawling, walking around furniture
  • trying to walk while holding on to your fingers
  • trying to stand unassisted
  • just beginning to eat more solid kinds of food
  • says "ma ma ma...mom!"

We are still waiting for them to sleep through the night. On the bright side we are getting a much better routine going and this seems to help. I am now finding that they are asleep by about 9pm, then usually wake at 12-12:30. Then again at about 3:30, and then they seem to get up lately at about 7am. I am hoping that the routine stays this way, and hope even more that soon, the 330 waking will be finished!!

I can not believe that they are already 9 months old!!!!!

Today, it is just a quite, stay at home day. We all need to rest from the busy weekend. Kaylee is a bit more fussy, but I think that is due to teething more than anything, and Wyatt also is just not himself. I hope a nice "jammy" day will help us all!!!
