Will it ever end????

Well,in our house we are still battling this horrible cold. On Tuesday, I took Wyatt to the doctors as I was beginning to get concerned that his low grade fever was not going away and that the chest congestion was getting worse. Well, the doctor says that it is just a cold and should be cleared up in 10-14 days.

Just when I think that things are getting better...poof, Wyatt almost has a relapse of his cold...he was getting better and then it was like he was a few days ago. Kayne has been the same. He was beginning to feel alot better and then poof, he came home from work saying he was feeling terrible and the next day he came home from work early and has been sick ever since! Then there is our little lady! She had been so good through everything, and best of all she was not sick...Well, the poor little girl is now so sick. The same thing that Wyatt has, stuffy/runny nose, cough and chest congestion. Night times are the worst right now. Kaylee will start out in her bed, but that does not last too long, she ends up on the couch where she is proped right up and able to breath. At this point I am trying everything I can to ensure that everyone gets as much sleep as possible!

I really hope that this cold leaves soon...I guess I should expect another 2 weeks of this...yuck! At least, it is just a cold....it could definately be so much worse!

ugh, this darn cold!!

For the last few days all of us have been sick. Kayne had a terrible head cold, and a really nasty cough. I had the head cold, chest congestion, and for one day had a terrible bout of the flu...I was so sick! Kaylee has been having a bit of a runny nose and then Wyatt, our poor little man. He is now the worst of us all. He has a terrible congested nose, a horrible cough and just looks so pale. Lately, he has not been eating very much. He can get to sleep, but his darn cough wakes him up...ahhh, this darn cold.

With all of us being sick, we have all had a couple of days of sleeping in. The kids have been getting up at 930am!!! What a treat that has been for me, although in all fairness, it is probably because we are up alot during the night.

On top of dealing with the colds, we have also been having some added side effects from the 1 year immunizations, and teething...Kaylee has a tooth that is getting ready to come through the gum anytime now!

Despite all the blah feelings, we have been at home playing around as much as can and taking breaks. Wyatt and Kaylee are becoming little masters at putting mega blocks together. And Wyatt is developing quite the arm...from throwing the blocks too!

The kitchen is still a huge success, along with all of the little food items that we have. The Mrs. Potts teapot is a hot item...they both love to take the lis off and put it back on...I am amazed at how fast their co-ordination is improving!

Wyatt is walking more and more, he is learning to turn around and keep going. If he is tired, he looks like he has no balance at all. Kaylee is walking more and more when holding on to your fingers. She still has only taken about 4 steps by herself. But when she is ready, I think she will skip the walking and go right to running :)

I hope that this upcoming week, things will be a bit better health wise!

We made it!

Today, Kaylee and Wyatt had their 1 year immunization shots and flu shots. They each got 4 needles, 1 in each arm and 1 in each leg. Overall, they were really good throughout it all. We had more issues before the shots. Wyatt was playing and took a nose dive...literally. He was screaming and I realized that he had a bloody nose. So here I am in the bathroom with one screaming baby cuz he is hurt and another one because her brother is crying. It was a rocky start, but Wyatt is ok, the bleeding stopped and the only signs of his nose dive is a bit of a bruise on his forehead!

When we arrived home, both of them had a bit ofa nap and woke up in relatively good moods. They had lasagne for dinner and loved it, then lots of play time after dinner. They visited with grandma and grandpa for a bit (kaynes parents) then off to bed at 8pm.

I hope that they sleep well and feel better tomorrow!

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY KAYLEE AND WYATT!!!

Today, Kaylee and Wyatt turned 1!

I am amazed at how fast this past year has gone by. So much has happened and there are times where the last year seems like one very long never ending day. Then you look back and an entire year has passed.

This past Saturday, we had a big birthday bash to celebrate the big "one". It was everything that I had hoped it would be. We had a great turn out of family and friends. I had rented a hall as our place is just too small to accomodate the entire family.

I was very busy leading up to the party, I did alot of baking which included cookies and squares, but also made the birthday cake for all of the guests to eat, and then I also made 2 smash cakes...one for each to have fun with. On top of all of the baking, I also made Kaylee and Wyatts birthday outfits.

Everything turned out amazing! I loved the cakes, they were perfect...everything that I had hoped for. And their outfits...darn were they ever the cutest kids at the party!!!

At the party, we did alot of visiting, then the gifts...there were alot of gifts! Kaylee and Wyatt recieved so many wonderful gifts from everyone...thank you so much! Little people, mega blocks, cars, riding toys just to mention a few. Also some amazing outfits for the upcoming chilly weather.

Today, Kayne and I gave them their birthday gifts. We got Kaylee a Disney talking kitchen, and Wyatt a step 2 work bench. They both loved them. And they played nicely for the longest time without fighting...then Wyatt wanted the teapot that Kaylee was playing with!

We had their one year check up today and they are very healthy babies. Kaylee now weighs 18 lbs 2 0z, and Wyatt weighs 16 lbs 9 oz. Since they were born, Kaylee has gained 11 pounds, and Wyatt has gained 11 pounds 4 ounces. We will be starting them on milk soon, and they are eating what we eat. They still are not too fond of meat...unless it is off of mine or kaynes plate. They both love fruit. I could give them fruit every meal, every day and they would be very content. They also love macaroni and cheese and Lipton's noodles and sauce! And just recently we learned that they really like home made snicker-doodle cookies!

Kaylee:

  • says: mom, dad, uh-oh, moos, oinks, here, signs "more". Shakes her head for "no"...she really likes this one!
  • Walks very well when holding on to things, has taken up to 4 steps by herself.
  • has a very well established temper. Also has quite the attitude! If you tell her no to something, such as climbing up on something, she will make this face, clench her fists and basically say...errrrrr....then she will continue with what she is not supposed to be doing. If you move her away form what she is doing, she will cry, scream and let you know that she is mad at you!
  • loves books...but you need to watch her with them or else she will eat them!
  • Is eating table food...loves her fruit, noodles, cheerios, water, is more adventerous in trying new things. She also makes it very clear if she does not like something. She will push it away, and if you give it to her again, she will throw it on the floor. If she has put it in her mouth and she does not like it, she scrunches up her face and spits out the food. It is rather funny to watch.
  • She is our little entertainer...she loves to dance and if she knows that she has an audience, she is quite the character!

Wyatt:

  • Says: mom, dad, uh-oh, shakes his head "no", here,
  • Is walking well on his own. Sometimes still uses the furniture or crawls, but his confidence in walking independantly is growing steadily everyday!
  • Has a temper, but not like his sister. If you take him away from something, or something away from him, he will sit on the floor, put his head on the ground and cry. He makes it seem like his heart is completely broken and it is the end of the world.
  • Loves books, listening to music and dancing
  • Some of his favorite shows are-4 square, In the Night Garden, the Backyardigans, Thomas the train and Bob the Builder.
  • Is eating table food. Loves his fruit and would be happy if this was the only thing we gave him! He also loves his macaroni and cheese, Liptons noodles and sauce, puffs and crunchies. A new found favorite is homemade snickerdoodle cookies!
  • Is our serious little guy. He likes to ponder and examine things and then put things into action. Getting smiles out of him for pictures seems to be a challenge, but not impossible!

Now for the fun stuff...all of the pictures!

Here is the cake I made for all of the adults:

On a roll!

Well, last night was the second night that Wyatt has slept through...he slept from 8pm-8am!!! It was great and he looked so rested when he woke up! I really hope that it continues!

Kaylee has now taken 4 steps by herself, and she is very proud of that!

We did some running around today for the birthday party...we picked up all of the munchies, beverages, and supplies like plates and stuff. Now we just need to pick up some decorations and we will be set.

I almost have Kaylee's outfit done, should have the dress finished today, then there will be the bloomers and hat...I am hoping to get it all done tonight. For Wyatts outfit, I am starting it over. I had it 1/2-3/4 of the way finished, but was not really happy with it. So I am revamping the pattern to what I want and I am sure it will turn out perfectly!

This is going to be a busy week here with everything that needs to get done before Saturday. I will try to post often to keep everyone updated with things, but if it gets hectic I may miss some days :)

She did it!!! She did it!!!!!

Tonight we were all sitting on the floor and all of a sudden Kaylee took a step all by herself...Kayne and I looked at each other, smiled and then clapped and cheered Kaylee on!

She tried a few more times going back and forth between me and Kayne and managed to get 2 steps before she would go to her knees.

When Kayne and I would cheer her on, it was so sweet, Wyatt would clap along with us! I am so happy that Kaylee and Wyatt are so supportive of one another already! I think that soon, they will both be running around!!!

WOW...YIPPEE...YAHOO!!!!

I am trying not to jinx myself, but....WYATT SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!! He sleptfrom 8pm-6am, got up, ate and then went back to sleep until 815!! I am so darn excited about this...this is the very first time that he has slept through the entire night! I am really keeping my fingers crossed that this will be a new habit!!

Kaylee was up a couple of times, but that I believe is still due to her having a cold and her nose giving her grief!

Today and yesterday Kayne had the day with both of the kids as I was working. They really seemed to have alot of fun, but it was so nice to see the great big smiles when I got home from work. Those welcome home hugs and kisses are the best!!!!!

Other than that, it has been a quiet but good weekend.

I am hoping that tonight will be better than last night...keeping my fingers crossed!!!!

Darn Colds!!

Not only have they been teething, Kaylee and Wyatt have been trying to cope with a terrible cold as well. Their poor noses have been so plugged up that they can not breath or running constantly that I can not keep up with wiping it!

During the day, it does not seem too bad, they still play and talk, but are definately more irratable, clingy and moody! At night time, Kaylee has not been sleeping to well...she would go to sleep and then with in an hour and half, she would be up again. She would be ok if she was elevated and ended up sleeping on me or the couch for a few nights.

Last night, she fell asleep at 620 pm...this is very not normal!!!!! And she slept all night, got up a couple of times, but went back to sleep once she was fed. She is doing better today, but the nose is still a bit of a problem.

Wyatt has a stuffy nose as well, but he seems to be handling it better than his sister.

UGH!!! Colds are no fun!

What a difference!!!

Wyatt has been sleeping in his own room, tonight is the 3rd night, and WOW what a difference! He has nor been sleeping through the night, but he has already slept 6 hours at a time and has been sleeping in until 8am!!! This is such a change from him waking up every 2 hours or so!!!

Both Wyatt and Kaylee have been playing alot in Wyatts room! They love it! I am still doing some work in there, but now the kids play when I am working. It has been nice, I have opened up toys that were in the closet that we just had no room for. Now, they are playing with these new toys and have all the room that they need.

So thier birthday party is in just over 1 week, and I still have so much to do before that day. I am still waiting for people to RSVP, so I know how much stuff to by....we invited about 65 people and have a confirmed 24...I am hoping to hear some responses soon...it would be not too much fun to run out of stuff to eat!!!

We have a busy week ahead of us...need to do baking, finish their outfits, do some shopping for groceries for the party, assemble and wrap presents, pick up decorations, and make room for the new toys that they are getting. I am also hoping to be able to get some rest in there :)

Both Kaylee and Wyatt have a cold. They have a congested nose and Kaylee is waking lots during the night because of this. She also has a cough that is developing, and has some chesty breathing during the night. She is a little trooper during the day, but at night, the cold wins. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will feel much better for their party!!!

The last 2 days, Wyatt has been much more mobile...he is starting to do alot more walking instead of crawling, he has been able to gain better balance and seems to be gaining more confidence on leaps and bounds! I really think that he will be fully walking by his party!! Kaylee is walking alot better, but still will only walk if she is holding on to something. Loves to be walking behind the walker or around furniture. I think that once she actually sees that Wyatt is moving alot more freely, that she will be trying to walk by herself!!!

We were out most of the day today. Grandma (kaynes mom) seemed to have alot of fun. She was on a mission to find things for the birthday and she was successful! We left at 11am, and then I got home at 4pm. The kids were amazing, there was a bit of fussing but really nothing to bad at all. They had alot of fun looking at toys and other things. When we were at toys r us, I found some chairs that I may buy them for Christmas. I put them each in one and they loved them. Wyatt stretched right out, legs over one arm and head resting on the other...just chillin, it was so cute. Kaylee was excited to be in the chair, when I took her out she was signing "more,more"...too cute to see. When we picked her up and put her back into the shopping cart, she had a complete meltdown!! She really likes having a chair! I think that they will be an amazing Christmas gift for them!!

When at home, they played and then went to bed fairly well...Wyatt cried for a couple of minutes and then things were quiet!! Hope that the night stays peaceful and my babies can sleep well!!!

Its Done!!!!!

I have not posted in a few days, but there is a good reason for that...WYATTS ROOM IS DONE!!!!!!!

I have started to move his things in there this morning and tonight will be the first night that he gets to sleep in his own room, and Kaylee will be in her own room! So far I have a dresser moved and the crib moved. There is still more that needs to go into his room, but the main things are in there!

I am so unbelievably excited about this. I think that the room looks amazing, and once I get all the stuff up on the wall and the curtains and new blinds hung, it is going to be perfect!!!

So I was able to get most of the stuff swithced around in both rooms, there is still some work to be done but I accomplished alot today. But the important thing is that W is in his own room for the very first time tonight! He cried for a couple of minutes, and then he was out! And it was wonderful...Kaylee was not bothered at all by the crying!!! Yippee!!!!

I still need to hang the stuff on the walls but that will come with time!

I am just so happy that this big project is almost finished and it is all that I had hoped for!! Both K and W seem to really like the room as they now go in and out and have fun playing in it!

Where do they learn these things??

Yesterday, I thought I would give something a try...the kids used plates instead of me putting the food directly onto their tray. I was feeling gutsy, and not to concerned if the plate of food when onto the floor. Things went amazingly well, both K and W ate off of the plate and when they were done, they emptied the plate onto the tray!! I was waiting for the plate to go onto the floor but it never did. So, again, all day today we used the plates and it went well again. I am using the plates that I bought from IKEA, and they love them. I think that the bright colors help!

For breakfast, the kids get fruit, usually a banana, and some cheerios. W likes fruit more, and K likes the cheerios more. This morning, I caught W doing something that I had never seen before and do not know where he learned this from. He puts his finger on the edge of a cheerio and pushes down, and sends the cheerio flying. This morning, one of them shot about a meter from his chair! No one showed him this, but he does it...and does it well!! He would be great at playing tiddily winks!!

Yesterday was a great day, I did a little bit of sewing...W's outfit is about 3/4 of the way done!Today, I got all the trim done in W's room...baseboards, window and door. It is looking amazing!! Tomorrow I am going to try to paint the trim, and get the rest of the room cleaned out...although that may take a couple of days to ensure it is done efficiently and for that I can only do it when the kids are sleeping. Then it will be down to scrubbing the floor, laying the play mats down, making curtains and bedding (although that can still be put off...not essential) and finally...move W into his own room!!!!!! I am hoping to have this done by the end of the weekend. I would love it if he was in his own room Sunday night. This way, I will be able to be up alot of need be due to the change and I can nap on monday if I am tired. I am hoping that all this hard work will pay off and the kids will sleep through the night...I cant wait!

In the evening, we all play on the floor after dinner. It is our family time. Well lately, both K and W, have taken a big liking to blowing zerberts on my belly. At first it was just puffs of air, but now there is alot of noise that comes with this. K is the leader of this, she usually initates and lifts my shirt and them blows on my belly, bringing much laughter. W follows suit and joins in with the fun. The two of them usually take turns blowing on my belly, but sometimes K is determined not to share and manages to weasel her way between me and her brother. It is very funny to watch :)

I think they both have a bit of this terrible cold/flu that is going around. They have been more clingy/fussy, and today both were running a bit of a low grade fever. The fever was not continual, but off and on. I hope that with a night of sleep that they will fel better tomorrow!

Overall, it was another fabulous day, lots of playing, lots accomplished, new tricks...just alot of love and fun :)

Things we have been doing.

We have been rather busy the last few days.

On Friday, we just had a stay at home day, and it was nice as Kayne was home aswell. This gave me an opportunity to work a good amount in Wyatts bedroom. I was able to get all the priming finished, and the first cutting done. It took alot but finally that blue is all gone...yippee!!!! I also got some more done on Wyatts birthday outfit. Gosh, they are going to be so darn cute!!!!

Saturday, this was a busy day for us. Kaylee, Wyatt and I joined my mom and grams at IKEA. It was nice as we left after the morning nap was done. When we were getting the kids dressed, Kayne said to Kaylee "are you going shopping at IKEA" Kaylee said "YEAH!". It was so darn cute. Not sure if she knew what she was saying yeah too, but it was perfect timing and it made us laugh. Once we got to IKEA, we looked around for a bit and then had to take a break, go to the cafeteria and have some lunch. Once bellies were full, were were on our way looking at everything possible. I picked up the KALAS set of dishes for the kids, there were plates, bowls cups and cuttlery. I would soon like to start the kids with utensils and dinnerware, and these should be good as they are small for kids and they are plastic!! Then I found some duvets for the kids beds. This is a weakness of mine...I LOVE bedding for the kids rooms, I try to be good but gosh darn there is so many cute things, bright things, well almost anything :) I also picked them up some portable potties for them. I am hoping to be able to start potty training once they are efficient enough in the walking and these potties are perfect and for $2.99 each, I could not go wrong. I also found some long sleeved bibs, I thought that I would give these a try as unfortunately, the colder weather is approaching so undressing them tto eat may not be to practical. Well, they work perfectly!!!

When were were getting closer to the end of our outting at IKEA, the kids were starting to get a bit tired. I found some light blue pillows for $1.99, gave wach of them one. Kaylee was so cute with the pillow, she hugged it and never really let it go. Wyatt would hug it and then throw it, and then want it again. This became a game so his pillow was put in the cart. As we were walking you could see Kaylee's eyes drooping, we propped the blue pillows and my sweater and poof, she was out like a light. I really wish I had a camera to take a picture. It was just so darn cute....shopping really can tucker a girl out!!

Once we were done at IKEA, we all came over to my house. Mom and grams came in for a drink and we had a nice visit after a busy afternoon. The kids were happy to see dad, and were having fun playing with there new items.

After dinner, Kayne and I were busy playing alot with the kids. Kathy lent me a toy that is a car that the kids can ride, but it changes into a toy that they can oush and walk behind. So we turned it into the walker and both Kaylee and Wyatt took turns walking behind this toy. They would go back and forth between me and kayne. There was alot of cheering, smiles, dancing and laughing, and after 45 minutes, there was 2 extremely tired babies that went to bed!!

Saturday was a rough rough night. The kids are still teething...really I do not think that it will ever end. Well both were up alot during the night. I had started to fall asleep at 10pm, and was up what felt like every hour. Then 3am hit, and that was it for the end of sleep for me. Wyatt was up the most. I think he must be getting a cold on top of teething, he was just not a happy camper!

Now normally, if they were up that much at night it would be not so pleasant, but at least at their nap time, I too would lay down for a nap to get some rest. Well, Sunday that was just not an option for me. I started a new job that day...at 7am!!!! I love being home with the kids, but I also like to have some independance. So after Kayne and I talked about things we were on the same page...we both do not want to pay for childcare, we would like to be the ones that take care of the children. So our decision was, was that I would find a part-time job that would be flexible and work around Kayne's scedule, so I would work evenings and weekends. Well, I found a job that is perfect, it is flexible and very understanding of my desire to be at home with the kids and not pay for childcare. So sunday was my first day, I worked 7-3 and absolutely loved it!!! I think that this will be perfect for me!! I ultimately would love to work form home so I would be home all of the time, but until I get my butt in gear and promote my wedding cakes and the crafts, I need to work :)

I only called home once to check up on how Kayne and the kids were doing, and then I called once to ask Kayne what Saturdays he was working. But when 3 o'clock came, I was happy to leave and return home to see my babies, and they too were happy to see me! I managed to stay awake until about 930pm and that was it, I was done, I passed out....well until the kids woke up :)

Today, it was another productive day, but on a relaxing pace. Got up in the morning at 720am, Wyatt was ver clingy today, it is very apparent that he has a cold as his nose is all yucky and he has been really whinny! At their morning nap, I went into Wyatts room and got the first coat of paint done! Then after lunch, we went out and did a few errands. Came home, put groceries away, played for a bit and then nap time again. And during this nap time, I was able to do the second coat of cutting in Wyatts room!. After dinner, I got the final coat of paint done...yes the painting is done, and the room looks amazing. Now, I just need to replace the trim, and paint that, clean the floor, put in the play tiles and his room will be ready to move him in. I am looking so forward to this day. I have the hopes that by them each having their own room, that they may actually sleep through the night. I am finding that they are both light sleepers and they really seem to wake one another so that makes it hard. I have tried letting them cry themselves back to sleep, but it does not work...I seem to get two really mad babies and less sleep!

I am hoping that Wyatt feels better tomorrow! Poor little man was really not himself today. My happy go lucky guy was well not to happy. He was happy to see daddy come home from work, and was happy to go to bed. He has been sleeping for 3 hours now, so I am sure he will wake up within the next 30 minutes! Tonight, I will be ready for him and have the tylenol ready just incase we need it. He did have a slight fever today, so I do not want that to get out of control!

Heres to a happier day tomorrow!!!

Does it ever end??

So, again last night, I was up every two hours with one baby or the other. More so Kaylee than Wyatt. Wyatt was up 3 times, where Kaylee was actually up every 2 hours. She woke up at 1030pm, and was truly not a happy camper. Her nose was stuffy yet runny, she just did not know what she wanted, but she cried. She had some cuddles with me, and then with dad and then she came back to me. I gave her some Motrin, and fed her again and she finally went back to sleep...at least for a bit.

This morning, she was i a much better mood, but still a little off, well I know what has been going on...she has more teeth coming in...not just 1 but 3...yes 3 at once!!!! I think 2 of them will pop through at the same time, and the third one will not be far behind!

Wyatt as well has more teeth coming in...I have been waiting for some more of his bottom teeth to come in, but still only two. It looks like he has his 5th top tooth on its way!

At the rate we are going, they will be teething continuously until they have all of their teeth!!!

As for an update on Wyatts room, I have the first cutting of primer done, and after dinner, I should be able to get the first layer of primer on and then the entire 2nd coat of primer...it id going to look so much better even though it is just primer!! No more of the terrible blue color that was in there!!!!

Busy, busy, busy!!

Today, I have already managed to wash all the walls in Wyatts room while the kids were napping. Now I get to start the fun stuff of cutting and priming and then painting.

We will be heading out in a little bit. Kayne has a staff meeting today, so we are going to go and visit him at work for his lunch, this way he will be able to spend a bit of time with the kids today. Then I need to go and pick up some more dog food, go to walmart-picked up blinds for Wyatts room and they are too small :( Once that is done, we will see how the babies are doing and go from there...it may be nap time so we shall see!!

Well, we did most of our errands today. Still need to go to Walmart as the kids were napping in the car and I did not want to wake them up. We had a great visit with Kayne. He spoils his babies! At work they got in some cute little bears, so each of the kids got one. Kaylee was in her glory, hugging and kissing the bear and showing people her new friend. Wyatt was too busy crawling around to show interest in the bear, but once we got home he was happy with it.

So, last night we tried size 4 diapers for sleeping. The size 3 were beginning to leak A LOT resulting in waking up the kids and causing a lot of laundry. So, the size 4 worked...NO MORE LEAKS!!!!!!!!! It was so nice to have dry babies this morning :) It is hard to believe how fast they are growing!

It was another good day today. I did not get as much done as I had hoped to in the bedroom, but tomorrow is a new day. I am really hoping that I will have it done by the end of the weekend...I think that this is possible as once I start painting, I usually stay up until it is done.

Tomorrow is a new day and I hope to get a lot accomplished!!

Getting things done.

Well, I have finally gotten some work done in Wyatt's room. Yesterday, I was able to get all the holes in the walls filled, and there were alot of them. I did not realize how many nail holes there were until I began filling them all. Once this was done, the room was a bright blue with alot of white spots all over, it looks rather funny. I was also able to get most of the walls sanded down before the kids needed to go to bed. I was hoping to get it all sanded, but Kaylee decided that bedtime was not going to wait so I stopped and took care of the little miss!

Then last night, when the kids were sleeping, I got all the material cut out for thier birthday outfits. Kaylee's outfit consists of a dress, matching panties, and a hat. Wyatt's outfit will be a pant style romper, and matching ball cap. I am going to try to make matching shoes, but we will see about that. I will also make a bow or hairband for Kaylee. I know that we will have hats for them, but to be honest, I am not sure that the hats will stay on their heads for very long! They seem to have more fun taking them off and chewing on them :)

Today, I am hoping to get all of the walls washed in Wyatts room, vacuum up all the dust from sanding and maybe even get the cutting done of the first coat of primer. We also have an appointment for pictures this afternoon, so it will be a nice day with easy outings...I hope! And when the kids are in bed, I may start sewing their outfits, but we will see how tired I am and how co-operative the kids are for reamining asleep :)

About a week ago, the kids learned how to climb up on their toy box, and learned that by doing this they can get higher and see out the window. So, I changed things up and put the toy box in the bedroom, and then put little beanbag chairs out in the living room. Well, yesterday both the kids decided to be little monkeys and climbed the chair and started banging on the window. Kayne and I both warned them that they would fall down and that they should not climb...no sooner said, Wyatt stepped back and took a tumble, he bumped his head on the floor, but we all laughed and so did he. Then Kaylee took her tumble...she bumped her chin on the windowsill, got a bit of a scratch and bruise. There were some crocodile tears, but today all is good, there is a slight scratch and you can not really see any bruising...phew, just what I wanted-11 month pictures with a bruised chin!

Well, we made it through the pictures, they turned out fairly well. I have to wait to get them until the end of September, but that is ok.

Before we went for pictures we did some shopping and I was able to finish picking up birthday gifts...I only needed to get something for Kaylee from Wyatt and I found exactly what I was looking for! I also picked up zippers and ribbons for their outfits that I am making. Kaylee and Wyatt loved being out today and they were such good babies! They are such a pleasure to be out with!

When we got home, the little ones were really hungry, so they enjoyed french fries and tried a cheeseburger. They loved the frenchfries, had some of the burger, but with it being a new taste only had a bit of it, then finished off with one of their favorites...peaches!

After dinner they had a lot of fun playing on the floor, and climbing to look out the window. By 730, it was clearly bedtime, so both were changed, fed and put to bed with no complaints!

It was a wonderful day, and hopefully tomorrow will be just as great if not better!!!

A New Milestone!

Today, Kaylee reached a new milestone. She learned to stand up by herself without holding on to anything first!

It was so cute and she was so proud of herself. We were having some family play time on the floor which consisted of ganging up on mommy. Then Kaylee decided that she needed to place herself right on the middle on Kayne and myself, she was very proud of herself for placing herself as the center of attention! After a bit on crawling all over mommy, she began by placing her head on the floor and bum up in the air, then she would push herself up and end up plunking on her butt. She was having fun doing this so she continued. Finally after an attempt she was standing up on her feet, and then a few seconds later, kerplunk on her butt. We were so proud of her, Kayne and I both clapped and she copied us and clapped as well. The response she got for doing this pleased her and she continued for a while longer. She did this for about 45 minutes. This little girl certainly has some strong determination, and is learning that she can do anything she puts her mind to!!

Mommy and daddy are so very proud of their little princess. She is gaining the confidence and we are wondering who will be running first...Kaylee or Wyatt. I guess the waiting game is on!!

We had a quiet day in this house today. It appears that the kids and I have a bit of a cold and have enjoyed having a truly lazy day. Wyatt is chewing alot on his fingers so I believe that he has more teeth on the way, and Kaylee was drooling contiuously all day, so hopefully her 4th tooth will be in soon. I am wondering if I will ever get a break from the teething, or am I in for a long haul until all their teeth are in...I am beginning to think that they are following their cousin Emily in this area! I may be doomed :)

Tonight,I have started to cut out the pattern peices for their birthday outfits. I am so excited to get these started! I was out yesterday and found some beautiful material for Christmas, so once I am finished the birthday outfits and see how the look, I may just turn around and make them some amazing Christmas outfits!

Uncle Mouse-sorry we never made it to the airport, we wanted to but the need to stay home was important. We all really enjoyed seeing you and having you over for dinner. Bowling was a blast and I am happy that we were able to make it! I am so happy that you love your scrapbook too! I hope that your journey home is a safe one, and I am looking forward to hearing from you when you get home! Love ya!!!!

11 months old!!!!

Kaylee and Wyatt are 11 months old today. It is still hard to believe that they will be 1 in a month!

They are growing so much...they are no longer little babies but more like toddlers everyday. Their personalities are really starting to show, Kaylee loves her babies; she will give them hugs and kisses, and when you ask her where her baby is she will go and get it. She is really starting to share everything with people. She now has 3 teeth and is working on number 4! Wyatt, he loves his cars. He makes a sound when he is pushing them around...too cute! He is just beginning to share things, but not as consistently as Kaylee. He is getting alot better at walking on his own. He still crawls but getting much more confident in his walking skills!

Here are what they are doing now:
Kaylee:
  • shares
  • hugs and kisses baby
  • showing a much better understanding of what you say/ask her
  • completely on finger foods-does not like using a fork, but loves using her fingers
  • still not sleeping through the night
  • loves walking around the furniture, but still not to keen on walking by herself.
  • is a huge cuddle bug...she loves to give and recieve hugs!
  • says, mom, dad and I think she is trying really hard to say "here". She says this when ever she gives you something...ahh, manners already...I like it :)

Wyatt:

  • getting more and more confidence in walking independantly
  • loves his cars.
  • completely on finger foods, likes to eat by himself, but when he is tired, he prefers you to feed him off of a fork
  • still nor sleeping through the night
  • eye hand co-ordination is great, he loves putting things into containers
  • says mom, and dad.

Both of them now race to the door when daddy gets home from work. If daddy does not pick up Wyatt up when he gets his shoes off, Wyatt gets really upset. Both the kids need to give daddy welcome home hugs. It is so great to see. The kids are so happy and it always makes daddy smile :)

Yesterday when we were in the car, Kaylee and Wyatt did the cutest thing ever. I wish I would have had my camera handy, but my memory will have to do. They were in their carseats and they were holding hands and talking to one another. How sweet!

So we have the birthday invites done for their 1st birthday party. We will be having it October 4th. I am looking so forward to this celebration.

I have found a perfect pattern so I will be making their birthday outfits. I have bought the material and I am so excited to see how the finished products will look.

This has been a very busy week for us, but a good week: On Sunday we were at Kayne's geido's for dinner. It was a quiet evening out and it was nice to see everyone as it had been awhile. On monday we were at my moms for a family dinner, there were a few of us there and it was loud with 6 youngsters playing but it was worth it. It was nice as we were able to see uncle mouse again!

Then Wednesday grandma and grandpa(Kayne's parents) came over for dinner. We had homemade spaghetti sauce and noodles...yummy. They had a really nice time playing with Kaylee and Wyatt. Kaylee recieved her very first designer purse. Grandma bought Kaylee a Guess purse!! Yup, thats right...mommy does not have one, but Kaylee who is 11 months old does...LOL...I think mommy may have to borrow this sometimes :)

On thursday, Uncle Mouse and Marleen, along with Kathy, Matt and Emily came over for dinner. We had homemade hambergers that Kayne BBQ'ed...they were so yummy! This was a great evening. We just sat back, played with the kids and chatted. I made a scrap book for Uncle Mouse and Marleen, of Kaylee and Wyatt for the 1st 11months. They LOVED it!!! I was so happy. When making this book I learned that we already have so very many pictures and I have ALOT of favorites.

On Friday, we mainly had a quiet day, but then went bowling with the family. It was alot of fun, and I truly need to practice my skills at bowling...the first game my score was 59 and the second game it was something like 104. I have mastered the art of gutterballs!!! Both Kaylee and Wyatt helped me push a ball down the lane, it was so cute. They really had no idea what was happening, but the had fun with a big ball!

Then today, we did a couple of errands and that was it, just a nice relaxing day at home...playing on the floor, and making a huge mess with toys. But there was alot of laughter and smiles so it was all worth it!

Tomorrow, I will be starting to do the prep work in Wyatts room, and who knows, I may get the first coat of primer on. I was hoping to have him in his own room by tomorrow, but with such a busy week, I put things on hold so I could rest and spend time with the kids and family. I am looking forward to getting this room done. I am really hoping that by seperating them during the night that they may actually sleep better. It seems that they wake each other up, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that them being in their own rooms that it will make a difference. But i will keep that updated. I will be so excited when they sleep through the night!

oh my, oh my, the things they do!!!!

Ahhh, once again, it has been a wee bit since I have posted....bad mommy! Really, if I would start the blog in the morning, then add things during the day and post it at night time, it would work so much better. So I am going to give this a try!

But in the meantime, I have much to update so here we go!!!

Wyatt is still taking steps on his own, he is learning to stand more and more unassisted. He is also realizing that he can move from the table to the couch in one step. This is a great thing for him, especially when he has taken something from his sister...he has learned he cam move faster this way! Kaylee has still not tried walking on her own. She choses to sit down instead and then crawl. But she does like standing.

Teeth, teeth and more teeth....for the last 2 weeks, sleep in this house has been very limited...I have been getting anywhere from 1-3 hours of sleep at a time. Both the kids have more teeth coming in. Kaylee has been cutting 3 teeth this round...she has her 2nd tooth on the bottom now, and tooth number 3 and 4 are coming in on the top. The top ones are not her fromt two teeth, but the ones beside the front two. It has been a rough go of things, she will go to sleep okay, but then cries in her sleep. There has been several occassions where I have gone into her room, and she is just lying there on tears...my poor little angel. Usually some cuddles would sooth her enough to go back to sleep, but there have been many nights lately where she is only happy cuddling with mommy. At least, we know why she is so unhappy at night and it is able to be taken care of, but still it is no fun seeing your little ones so uncomfortable.

Wyatt, now has 6 teeth, 4 on the top and 2 on the bottom. Those front top two teeth were horrible, these ones caused some discomfort for the little man, but he is a trooper. Now, he is showing signs of teeth 7 and 8 coming in...these ones are coming in on the bottom! He has been chewing and chewing and at times biting!! He is also more uncomfortable at night, but not as affected by this as Kaylee has been.

Growing up....well, I finally did it! We took the infamt carseat bases out of the car and installed the big carseats. WOW was that a P.I.T.A!!!! It took over 4 hours to get them installed, and there were 4 of us trying to get them in! I never thought it would be that hard to get those things in the car....now that they are there, they will be that way for awhile, until we decide to turn them forward facing...not rushing this though. THANK YOU CASEY!!!!! She was the one that was finally able to get those darn things installed properly, and she has the war wounds to show for it...sorry about all of the bruises, at least today my hands/wrists no longer hurt!! I had such a run around trying to get professional help for installing the carseats but had no luck. I tried the firedepartment and no one was there, I went to the RCMP and they will not look at them/touch them as they do not want to be liable. So then I went to my health unit near home and they told me that most people will not do this anymore as they do not want to be liable....soo my question was "where can one go for help to ensure that their babies are safe?" I was told I could order a DVD and watch it...what a joke!! Again...THANK YOU CASEY!!!! you helped me so much, as you know I was highly stressed about this...and MOM...thanks for listening and trying to help too!!! Did we not have fun running from the wasps too!!!!

First time Kaylee in her infant carseat. She was so tiny here. She was 2 days old here, she weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces here.

2nd last time thatKaylee was in her infant carseat. Wow she has grown!! She is 10 1/2 months here.

1st time Wyatt was in his infant carseat. He was 2 days old here and weighed 5 lbs 10 oz

2nd last time Wyatt in his infant carseat. He sure did fill it up quickly...What a change. He is 10 1/2 months here.

So now that the big carseats are in the car, the kids seem to really like them. They sit a bit higher up so now they can look out the side window more and see a bit more out of the back window. The chairs are reclined enough so they can still sleep pretty good!

Meeting more family for the first time. On this past sunday, me and the kids went out to Drayton Valley. Uncle Mouse and Marleen (from holland) arrived and we had a great family BBQ, welcomed them here and celebrated the August birthdays. At first, the kids were not to sure as there were alot of people, but with no time at all they were comfortable with everyone. And as ususal, they fought their afternoon naps...did not want to miss anything! But sleep and cuddles won! Kaylee seemed quite comfortable with uncle mouse and had a good little snooze with him. I was informed that I too slept the same way with uncle mouse when I was that age :)

When we were at my uncles having the BBQ, well Kaylee and Wyatt learned a new skill, and they made it look like they had been doing it forever. There was no stumbling, pausing or hesitation. They just went full steam ahead and thought it was great and did it over and over...THEY CLIMB STAIRS!!!!!! Not to sure how they managed to look like pros doing this as we have no stairs in our home for them to climb...pretty amazing!

A couple of weeks ago, my mom bought Kaylee a little "baby". Kaylee loves this thing. When we out visiting grandma (my mom) Kaylee had her baby on a stool and was pushing the stool around. Well the baby fell off of the stool and Kaylee stopped pushing the stool, walked around it, picked her baby up off of the floor and placed it back on the stool. Kaylee then proceeded to continue pushing the stool and baby. This little event amazed me so much. I honestly thought that she was just pushing to stool to help her walk around more freely...wow was I wrong! She is such a smartie pants!

Wyatt loves his cars. He pushes and throws them, but when he pushes them he makes a sound by blowing through his lips )like making raspberries! He too is such a little smartie pants!

Kaylee is starting to want to share her things with some people. She will have something and then she holds it out to show you. She will then place it into your hand. Just amazing at how much they learn on their own by just watching people around them

So, we finished the birthday invitations for their 1st birthday. We are so excited to be in the midst of planning this momentous event! It is so hard to believe that soon they will be 1 year old...the time has gone by so fast!! I am hoping to get the invites out this week. They turned out so good, we are proud of them!!

So, I finally get to start getting Wyatts room done. My goal is to have it done by his 1st birthday and I am sure it will be done by then! We got rid of the double bed and the old TV that was in there (glad you can use it Mal!!) So now it is just down to emptying it out and then the fun of washing the walls, filling any holes, priming, painting, redoing the trim, put in the playmats on the floor, make curtains for window and closet and new bedding. I am happy to finally be able to tackle this challenge. It will be nice for both Kaylee and Wyatt to have their own room. The amount of toys they have will be nice to have 2 rooms to put them in...maybe mommy and daddy will get their living room back...or at least not so over run with toys :) I will keep you posted on how this goes!

OH MY....My little man!!!!!!!

Oh what a day it has been! First of all, I noticed this morning that one of the three teeth that we have been waiting for finally popped through....yippee...his front two teeth have been giving him grief, so at last one of them will stop bothering him.

Now on to the BIG NEWS!!! This afternoon, Wyatt took his first 2 steps all by himself, not holding on to anything!!! We were so excited and he has smiles from ear to ear about this. Then when daddy got home, Wyatt showed him...and took 5 steps before he fell!!! This little guy really wants to move and now that he has had a taste of walking independantly I do not think there is anything going to stop him!!

Kaylee is not too far behind Wyatt, she is practicing standing independantly, but I am sure once she sees the freedom her brother has she will follow!!

It has been such a great day!

Here is a sequence of Wyatt walking!

Here is Kaylee standing:

Airshow!

On Sunday July 27th, we all went to the Airshow. Again, it was another hot day, but so much fun! Kayne took tons of pictures (1794 actually!) Kaylee and Wyatt had another great adventure. When we arrived we found a prime spot near the fence and spread out alot of blankets as there were a few of us. Then we walked around and I got an airbrush tattoo...i am really thinking about getting one so this was a test run, I loved it, but it let me know a few things...I want it a bit bigger and a bit higher. Once I was finshed getting this tattoo, we went back to the blanket and let Kaylee and Wyatt crawl/play around as they had been sitting for almost 2 hours.

They watched some of the airshow, but then I put them both in the jogging stroller and they both fell asleep and missed most of the airshow. They both woke up in time to see the best part...the snowbirds, they were amazing!!!

It was fun watching Kaylee and Wyatt watching the planes go by, and again, they were fine with all of the people and the noise! I was so proud on my babies!

Indy Race.

On July 26th, we went to the edmonton Indy. It was AMAZING!! We arrived there around 10am and walked around for a bit, then we found a nice area of grass, spread out a blanket, set up the umbrella (it was really hot and sunny) and relaxed and watched. Kaylee and Wyatt were amazing at the race! I was not to sure how they would be with all of those people and the noise. Wyatt actually slept through the entire race!! Kaylee had a nap before the race and seemed to enjouy watching all of the race cars go zooming by!

Oh my...it has been awhile...

Once again, it has been awhile since I have posted here. Life in our house has been rather crazy!! Lets go back to the family reunion!

We arrived at the location friday afternoon. It took us longer than anticipated to get there due to some road construction, but once we made it through there, it did not take us long to get to the place. Kaylee and Wyatt slept a good portion of the way, the woke up when we were at a standstill at the construction, but then dozed off again! By the time we arrived Kaylee and Wyatt were ready to come out of their carseats. We found a great location and set up our tent, and got everything organised. Then we started visiting people as they arrived.

Friday, we mainly mingled, went for a walk and had open fire roasted hotdogs for dinner...yummy! Kaylee and Wyatt got alot of attention and as always loved every moment of it!

Saturday, another big day of mingling, went to the water and watched people in the boat and some go tubing. We also had some family pictures taken...there were alot of us there! In the evening, there was a soccer game, I did not participate though, I was sitting near the tent with the babies, giving them some much needed quite time and a place to just play on the ground with their toys!

Sunday, we had a great breakfast and then started to pack up everything. And of course, it had to start raining, so we had to pack up a nice wet tent. The rain did stop once the car was packed and the weather began to improve. So, we decided (Kayne, myself, Dustin and Lisa) that we would go to Ma-Me-O beach and let the kids play in the sand. We got there and each got a yummy icecream cone, and then sat on the lawn first before heading to the beach. The kids loved mommy and daddy's icecream. When we were done eatting our yummy treat we decided to go back to the car as it looked like there was some nasty storm clouds heading towards us.

We arrived home around 4pm, and got the important things unpacked, I got a nasty headache, so after the kids were in bed...which did not take long after their bath, I too went to sleep.

This last week has been a rough one in our house. After the weekend away, and all the attention and interaction the kids recieved, they still wanted that at home. It is impossible for me to give them all of that attention all of the time! So needless to say, we have been dealing with quite a few tempers! We did not do alot that week as the kids were fussy, and the weather was poor. We went on a few walks in the jogging stroller, picked up a few groceries but that was about it. On friday, we set up the patio swing...I LOVE IT...it is so comfortable and everyone else in our house loves it too...mommy may have to wrestle to get her swing :)

This past Sunday, I met Casey and the kids and we took all 5 youngsters to the spray park. Kaylee and Wyatt were not too impressed with the spraying water so we just sat in the shade and played on the ground. It was a HOT day so we were only there for about 1 1/2 hours and then went back to Caseys for a bit. It was a nice relaxing day for us!

Yesterday, we went to the mall for a bit to look around and pick up some baby hangers so I can hang up more clothing for the kids. During our outting I found the perfect clock for our kitchen, I have been wanting one for over a year now, but could never find what I was looking for! And the best part was that it cost a whopping 6 bucks!!! We then went home as it was getting close to naptime. When the main sun was off of our deck, Kaylee and Wyatt put on their bathing suits and went splashing in their little pool...they have so much fun splashing around. The evening was relatively quite. Kaylee fought us again (3rd night now) to go to sleep. She screams at the top of her lungs and has a huge temper, it has been an adventure to say the least. Finally at 10:15pm, she was asleep!

We had a huge thunder and lightening storm lastnight, so I sat outside for a bit and watched the lightshow!

Today, we are going out. I am getting my hair cut, and then visiting some of my co-workers thatI have not seen in a long time. They have not seen Kaylee and Wyatt since they were 1 month old...oh how they have changed since then! I am looking forward to today!

Sunday, we got

Going away!!

Well everyone, we are on the way to a family reunion for Kaynes side of the family. It will be the first time that I am meeting some of the family and it has been 20 years since Kayne has seen some of them. I think it is going to be a busy overwhelming weekend, but alot of fun!

So to pack for 4 people to go camping has been a bit of a challenge. We have a Ford taurus, in the trunk we have a stroller (duoglider, which takes up have the trunk) and then a huge tent, 18 feet x 9 feet (which really takes up the other half of the trunk. Also squished/wedged into the trunk is a bag for kaynes stuff, a bag with mine and the kids stuff, a small cooler with their food in it, toys, 4 sleeping bags,diaper/hats for kids and some shoes. In the back seat of the car will be the kids, the dog, munchies and food, pillows, blankets, and kids favorite stuffies. In the front seat will be me and Kayne, my purse/diaperbag, Kaynes camera bag, and my pillow!!!! It will be a cosy little ride!!

I will post when we return. I hope you all have a great weekend!!!!

We have been so busy!!!!

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I have not posted in a bit, but we have been very busy. The joy of beautiful weather!

A couple of weekends ago, the weather here was extremely hot, so I was finally able to get our deck completely sanded and restained. It was a project that we have been working on for 6 weeks, and now the main part of the deck is ready to alot of outdoor use and I know that Kaylee and Wyatt will be able to move around safely, and I will not have to worry about them eating paint chips that have peeled off! I still have to stain the splindles on the railings, but at least I will be able to do that when all of us are outside.

Then July 1st, Canada Day, was very busy for us. In the morning Kaylee, Wyatt and I went and watched a Canada Day parade. My nephews Riley and Christopher were in the parade, they were lucky enough to be able to ride up in the front of a firetruck, and Riley was lucky to be able to say "Happy Canada Day" to everyone over the speaker of the truck! After the parade, me and the kids went home and picked up Kayne, and we went to some activities near home. There were so many booths set up for Canada celebrations, this year Kaylee and Wyatt were a bit young to really enjoy everything, but in the next couple of years, they will have lots to do!!! There was a booth set up that we searched for, it was called "waxed hands". I was very excited about this as I wanted to get Kaylee and Wyatts hands done, but due to their age we were not able to...also the wax would be too hot and we did not want to burn them! Maybe next time! When we were done at the festivities, we went to my moms house for supper, we visited with a bunch of my family and then at 10 pm, we left and went to watch the fireworks. They were amazing, and Kaylee and Wyatt were great during them. I was wondering how their first experience would be with fireworks, they did not cry or fuss, they both watched the fireworks!! We got home around midnight and they went to sleep rather quickly!!
Here are some of the beautiful fireworks that we saw:

The next day was a bit of a rough day...there was so much excitement the day before, and we were out for most of the day, that all of us just needed a bit of a quite day. We hung out at home, did laundry, cleaned up and just relaxed!

Then just this past weekend, we had our first camping trip of the year! It was the first time taking Kaylee and Wyatt out like that and sleeping in a tent. I was wondering how the weekend would go, how they would like it, would it be hard. All and all things went very well. Kaylee and Wyatt seemed to have a really good time! We were able to use our brand new tent...it was amazing!!! Both Kaylee and Wyatt learned very quickly that when you are awake, you go out the door and you are outside, so there were several times that they would go and bang on the tent door wanting to outside! They crawled all over the place, tried to eat dirt, leaves, grass and any other things that they could find! I was concerned about them not taking naps at all with all of the distractions, but they had naps on the friday and saturday!!! They slept all the way home on Sunday!

In the last week or so, it seems that things have really changed again! Kaylee is now on a pureed/mashed food strike...she only wants to have bite sized pieces that she can chew. Wyatt is now beginning to eat puffs and cheerios...but only when he wants to. Otherwise he still seems to gag. I have also tried giving him bite sized pieces of food, and he usually just refuses this.

Kaylee's first tooth is now all the way through, and Satuday night, I noticed that she has her second tooth coming though...this one is on the top!!!(Kayne looked today and he can not see it...it seems that the corner of that tooth is moving up and down, but there is a bump there!) And I would not be surprised if there is more on the way as she is chewing and drooling ALOT, and seems to be more fussy today!

Wyatt is starting to walk when he holds on to your fingers! That little boy is gonna be running before I know it!

Yesterday, July 6th, Kaylee and Waytt were exactly 9 months old!!!!! Here are some of the things that they are doing now:

Kaylee:
  • crawling, walking around furniture
  • trying to stand without assistance
  • eating bite sized peices of food
  • can eat by herself...but gets really messy!!!!
  • says "da da da...dad"

Wyatt:

  • Crawling, walking around furniture
  • trying to walk while holding on to your fingers
  • trying to stand unassisted
  • just beginning to eat more solid kinds of food
  • says "ma ma ma...mom!"

We are still waiting for them to sleep through the night. On the bright side we are getting a much better routine going and this seems to help. I am now finding that they are asleep by about 9pm, then usually wake at 12-12:30. Then again at about 3:30, and then they seem to get up lately at about 7am. I am hoping that the routine stays this way, and hope even more that soon, the 330 waking will be finished!!

I can not believe that they are already 9 months old!!!!!

Today, it is just a quite, stay at home day. We all need to rest from the busy weekend. Kaylee is a bit more fussy, but I think that is due to teething more than anything, and Wyatt also is just not himself. I hope a nice "jammy" day will help us all!!!

Fun in the Sun!!

Yesterday was a beautiful day here. It was sunny and warm, a nice change from the windy rainy weather that we have been having! With the weather being as nice as it was we thought that it was time to set up the kiddie pool. We inflated it indoors and both Kaylee and Wyatt were facinated by this thing. We then took it outside, put it on the deck and filled it up with some nice cool-warm water, got the kids into thier swimsuits and headed out side.

Kaylee and Wyatt had so much fun in there pool! There was alot of splashing, giggles and fun had. They played in the pool for about 1/2 hour, when they decided that it was time to get out. Their feet were very wrinkly!

Wyatt and Kaylee playing in the pool

Kaylee "sunning" herself after playing in the pool. Notice how wrinkly her feet are!
Wyatt making faces at Lyra (our puppy). Wyatt and Lyra are very good buddies!

A New Experience

Yesterday was my nephew, Christopher, kindergarten graduation. With the weather being as nice as it was, this event was held outdoors. K, W and I decided to attend this event as we are all so proud of Christopher. When we arrived there were lots of people there, the playground was busy with all the children, and the laughter was wonderful to hear.

We found a nice patch of grass, I put K and W on the ground. K thought this was neat, she touched the grass, and tangled her fingers in it, then just sat there and entertained herself. Wyatt on the other hand, did not like this texture. He touched the grass with his hands and then held his hand up in the air and started to cry. I put a blanket down and he was much happier sitting on that. If any part of his body touched the grass my poor little guy cried!

I think it will be interesting for the next few trips outdoors to see how W gets used to the lawn!

Other than the experience with the lawn, a good time was had by all!

CONGRATS CHRIS!!! WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!

Another new experience was a new food. They are "puffs", and these dissolve in the mouth very quickly, but gives the experience to put food in the mouth, chew and swallow. K LOVES them, and even though she has no teeth yet, she "gums" them really well. W, he makes alot of faces when he eats them. He prefers to lay with them, and when they do make it to his mouth, half the time he tends to choke on them. He is not to sure about chunky things yet. He gets the puffs daily and I am hoping that very soon , he will be liking more texture!

moody times...

Ahh, how interesting it is to watch little personalities develope. Right now the trait of temper tantrums is being practiced. I would have to say that Kis mastering this, although at times it is definately provoked by her brother!

K will have a toy, or something that appeals to her interests and W will take an immediate interest in that object and go and take it. To begin with, K was like "whatever" and find a new thing. Now, she hasa temper, she screams and tenses her entire body. Now, this temper also is showing up when she does not get what she wants when she wants it. It is amazing how loud an 8 month old can get!!!!

W is developing his temper, but has not mastered it to the degree of his sister. When he does not get what he wants he screams, whines and at times just lies on the floor and cries. If he wants something he just takes it. If you take it away from him, she sits on his butt and cries!

I can honestly say, most times these little moods are easy to handle. When you add teething into the mix of this along with a cold....yikes, these are definately some moody times!!

I am definately looking forward to this phase of teething to be finished!!!

Happy Fathers Day!!!

Well this was Kayne's very first fathers day!! He was able to sleep in until about 830am, and Wyatt thought that he would show daddy how loud he could get! We had coffee waiting for daddy which I think was really enjoyed. When Kayne was enjoying morning hugs and cuddles with a cup of coffee he opened his fathers day gifts from K and W. He was given a mug from each of them, and each mug had a hand and foot print...Kaylees was done in pink, and Wyatts was done in blue. Kayne seemed to really like those mugs...I think it will be the only year that we will get a hand and foot print on a mug!!!

Daddy holding his new mugs:

It was much more difficult than I thought to get a foot print and a hand print!! But the mugs are definately priceless!!

It was a quiet day here, when K and W were up, daddy had alot of bonding time, and when it was nap time, daddy played on his computer! I was able to get some much needed sleep for most of the day.

In the late afternoon, all of us watched a movie and relaxed. It was good day!

Surprise!!!!

It was a busy saturday for us. We had a surprise 65th birthday party to attend. It was a great turnout and i think that everyone had a really good time. Audrey was surprised, this party was for her and she had no idea! There was alot of food, we had BBQ hambergers and hotdogs, then there was a few different salads, fruit trays, veggie trays and dessert. I made a birthday cake for Audrey, it looked amazing, I put in alot of time for that cake and it truly showed. I made alot of cake for 60+ people, so I think that Audrey will have alot of left over cake as there was also a carrot cake. Audrey-I hope that you have a really good time!

This is the cake that I made for Audrey:

Teething and colds....

So the past few nights in the Mitchell home has been a little rough. W is having his forth tooth come through on the top, as well as a runny, yucky nose. K is still drooling alot, and her nose is also running continuously and making it hard to breath normally!

Last night neither of them really wanted to go to bed, but W lost the battle to sleepiness. Kon the otherhand was not so easy going! She fought sleeping until the battle was lost at about 1030pm...yay for swings!!! She unfortunately woke up a couple of times screaming and it took a fair amount of love and cuddles to calm her down and get her back to sleep. The two of them are so tired, but they are also very stubborn....apparently they do not want to miss anything!!!

Oh what a night!!!!

Teething...ahhhh the fun of teething! So both K and Wt are teething, and on top of the teething they have that joyful runny nose that goes along with it. All day long, there poor little noses are running...then nighttime arrives. The nose stops running and gets all stuffy. Having 2 teething babies with a plugged nose so they can not breath at night time is not alot of fun!

My poor little sweeties were up so much last night because of the nose, and what sleep they did get was when they were on me, or right beside me. It sure did make a long night!! Today, thier little noses are still running, but at least they are little troopers and are still smiling and playing. I am sure we will all be happy when this phase of teething passes!
